Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Leftfield Studio handles information in So Wrong, including the Android app (com.leftfieldstudio.sowrong) and its online multiplayer game.
Information used to run the game
- Game information: your chosen nickname, room code, submitted bluffs, votes, scores, selected game settings and game activity timestamps. We use this information to run rooms, show answers and results, manage turns and determine scores.
- Session information: the game generates a random session token to recognise your player session. The server receives this token and uses its hash as your player identifier in room records. This is not an account registration or a request for your real name.
- Local storage: the website keeps the session token and room code in browser session storage. The Android app also saves these values in its private app storage so it can restore your session when you reopen it. WebView may cache website resources on your device.
- Technical information: connecting to the service exposes your IP address and standard request information, such as browser or app information and request times, to the hosting infrastructure. Hosting providers may process operational and security logs to deliver and protect the service. The game database does not have dedicated fields for IP addresses.
- Support messages: if you email us, we receive your email address, your message and any information you choose to include. We use these to respond to your request.
Please use a nickname and avoid putting personal or sensitive information in your name or answers. The current app does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone or precise location.
Who can see information
This privacy page is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub logs visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes, including when visitors are not signed in. See the GitHub Privacy Statement for details.
Other players in your room can see your nickname, scores and game contributions as gameplay reveals them. Anyone with your room code may be able to join when the room permits joining. Share room invitations only with people you want to play with.
We use OpenAI Sites hosting and Cloudflare infrastructure, including its database service, to deliver the game and store room information. These service providers process data needed to operate, maintain and secure the service. Our email provider processes messages sent to the privacy contact below. Provider processing may take place in countries other than your own.
We do not sell game data or use it for targeted advertising. The current game has no advertising or third-party analytics SDK added by us. We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to investigate abuse and protect the service or its users.
How long information is kept
Rooms stop being accessible through the game 24 hours after creation. Expired room records are deleted from the active game database when a new room is created; expiry does not itself guarantee immediate deletion. Round data may be replaced as the game progresses. Leaving a room does not immediately erase completed contributions.
Browser session storage is managed by your browser. Android session information remains in app storage until replaced or cleared; you can remove local app data through Android settings. Clearing local data does not delete server records. Infrastructure logs and backups follow the hosting providers’ retention processes and may remain after active game records are removed. Support correspondence is kept while needed to handle your request and any related follow-up or applicable legal requirements.
Your choices and requests
You can stop playing, leave a room, clear browser or Android app data, and contact us about access to or deletion of information associated with your play. Email leftfieldstudioapps@gmail.com with the room code, nickname and approximate time you played, if available. Do not send your session token or passwords. We may need enough information to verify the request without disclosing another player’s data. Because the game uses temporary sessions rather than named accounts, we may be unable to identify a record after it expires or without sufficient details. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights concerning your personal information.
Security
The app connects to the game using HTTPS. Room access uses room codes and player session identifiers. No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security; keep your session information private and share room codes carefully.
Children and personal information
The game does not ask players for their age or date of birth. Players should not submit personal information in nicknames or bluffs. If you believe a child has provided personal information that should be removed, contact us using the address below.
Purchases and external links
This policy covers the current free test version, which has no integrated purchase flow. If paid category unlocks are introduced, this policy will be updated to describe the payment provider and purchase information processed before those features launch.
Question-source links may open other websites. Using the share feature passes the invitation to the app you choose. Those services handle information under their own privacy policies.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when our data practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be explained in the game where appropriate.
